Nineteenth Wedding Anniversary

>
This Saturday, Maurie and I will be celebrating nineteen years of marriage. I can hardly believe that so much time has passed. This picture shows us at Wheeler Park in Geneva. Arthur Andersen was throwing a party to note Maurie's recent promotion. I think it was in June and we had been engaged for about a month.

Here we are at the western steps of the Manti Temple. The day before Miles had taken out his endowments in preparation for his mission. He was able to act as one of the witnesses to our marriage. Dad, of course was the other witness. We were so very happy. I have so many beautiful memories of that day. Shelley brought beautiful handkerchiefs for us all to hold. She gave me the most elaborate and elegant one. Sara gave me "Eternity" perfume to wear. We were so excited in the Bride's dressing room that we had to hush each other. Mom knew everyone at the temple and all the sisters were so happy for her and kept asking if everything was alright. My dearest memory of the whole day was when I entered the sealing room Maurie looked at me with so much love in his face that I felt my heart jump. My wedding was everything I wanted it to be.

Here we are grinning foolishly. It was the best day in my life. August 9th of 1989. (Up to that point.) I hope that I've learned a few things from married life. The experience has been an up and down, topsy-turvy adventure. I didn't know then what I know now, but I would do it all again in a heart beat. Truth to tell, I love that man and I always will. It's just like the song says.

My dress had a train and in this picture Maurie is buttoning it up so that we can walk around to the north side of the temple where most of the family was waiting. I didn't want to drag it along the walk or have it thrown over my arm.

I love this picture of us. I can't think of all the times we have ended up standing like this. I'm always turning into him and he is looking out for whatever may be ahead.

Noah giving me a big smoocheroo. He had been rolling down the hill and lost his pants. See the earring? Maurie gave me the pearl earrings on the morning he proposed. It happened to be Mother's Day. When we got back from our honeymoon he started calling me Mom.

Joshua being tres silly. Many people wore that veil on the day of my wedding. I even have a picture of Miranda wearing as a little tiny girl. It seems most appropriate considering her wonderful news.

I think this photo of Sara is so much fun. She was so chic. We all had such a fun day. I have so many wedding pictures but I am running out of time to post them. Oh well next year on the 20th anniversary I'll do more.

What a nice post. I don't think I have seen all of these pictures and so I'm glad you have them all posted. It was fun to see Noah and you kissing, Josh wearing a bridal veil and Sara with all that 80's hair. I remember that day and it was a good one. Happy Anniversary. We love you.

I love the pictures. They were great to see. What was with my hair. I don't remember having it that poofy. I probably just got finished ratting it or something. It was a fun day.
